Geoff Neal vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio joins a stacked UFC 269 headlined by Charles Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier.

Another exciting match up is headed to UFC 269: “Oliveira vs. Poirier” as Geoff Neal vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio has joined the line up. Indeed, Neal vs. Ponzinibbio has been agreed to for UFC 269, according to ESPN, taking place on Sat., Dec. 11, 2021, via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV). No location or venue has been announced for the card.

Neal (13-4) seeks to end the first losing streak of his career following consecutive unanimous decision losses to Neil Magny and Stephen Thompson. Prior to that, Neal (No. 14) won five straight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bouts, including finishes of Mike Perry and Niko Price, as well as a decision win over Belal Muhammad.

Ponzinibbio (28-4), meanwhile, made his return to the Octagon in January following a two-year layoff caused by multiple bacterial infections that left him hospitalized. He was knocked out (watch here) by Li Jingliang in one round; however, he bounced back with a “Fight of the Night“ decision win over Miguel Baeza. In the time before his hiatus, Ponzinibbio knocked out Magny and Gunnar Nelson, and took decision wins over Perry and Sean Strickland.

Neal vs. Ponzinibbio joins a card boasting UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier, UFC women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena, and Jorge Masvidal vs. Leon Edwards.
