Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested and charged with domestic violence back on Sept. 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after Caesar’s Palace security found his fiancé, Jesse Moses, visibly shaken with blood coming her from nose and mouth.
“She’s not admitting to any domestic violence, but she’s bleeding from the nose and mouth,” the security officer told Metro Police dispatch in a call obtained by MMA Fighting. “She’s down with us while the male’s up at the room. He’s actually a professional MMA fighter, Jonathan Jones, and she’s refusing to go back to the room. We’re trying to assist her to help her grab her stuff, and she just will not go back.”
Jones and Moses were in “Sin City” along with their three daughters to help “Bones” celebrate his induction into the fight wing portion of the promotion’s Hall of Fame. Jones and former title contender Alexander Gustafsson had “Fight of the Year” at UFC 165 back in late 2013.
“It’s a little weird, because she’s trying to get assistance, but she’s refusing to go back up to the room,” the officer continued. “She’s on the casino floor, with ... I believe they’re her three daughters, she has three young girls with her. We’re with the female, we believe the male is by himself up at the room, we haven’t made contact with him at all. [We provided] first aid, she’s not requesting medical.”
Responding officers made contact with Jones on Las Vegas Blvd. but was the former champ was “extremely agitated” during questioning, to the point where “Bones” was hit with a second charge after head-butting the patrol car and leaving a “medium-sized dent.” Jones, who is due back in court on Oct. 26, was eventually released from Clark County Detention Center after posting bail.
Prior to his arrest, Jones vowed to make his UFC return — at heavyweight — at some point in 2022.
