Streaking UFC middleweight contender Marvin Vettori is the latest fighter to express disgust for Jake Paul’s combat takeover.

Paul, who is best known for his YouTube videos, took the fight game by storm last year by knocking out former NBA star Nate Robinson on one of boxing’s biggest PPV cards of 2020 (highlights HERE). In turn, Paul has created quite the buzz for himself and has quickly become one of the most hated people in combat sports.

While nobody considers Paul a “real fighter,” the social media juggernaut is currently booked to box former UFC welterweight Ben Askren on PPV this April. It will give Paul another chance to prove his striking skills are dangerous and that he’s as good as advertised. Askren isn’t anything special on the feet, but he’s a former professional fighter with a ton of experience.

Given Paul’s limited background in combat sports and brash attitude towards professional fighters, many people aren’t thrilled about his ability to secure big fights and even bigger paydays. This applies to Vettori, who took to social media earlier this week to explain his distaste for Paul and his blatant “disrespect” to all of the “real fighters” trying to make it.

“This Jake Paul bullsh*t is so disrespectful to all the real fighters,” wrote Vettori via Twitter. “F*ck whoever is always trying to take shortcuts especially in this game. Hope I had the chance to punk this bitch in any training or fight. Blood sweat and tears is what this game is about and he’s none of this.”

Paul seems to be putting the work in — even training alongside UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal — but that doesn’t mean he’s doing as much as real fighters throughout MMA and boxing. Fans will have to wait and see if Paul can make Askren look as foolish as Robinson did last November or if “Funky” can redeem himself and stop this silly Jake Paul hype train once and for all.

What say you, Maniacs? Do you agree with Vettori’s outlook on Paul? Has the YouTube sensation shown disrespect towards the fight game?

Sound off!
