Jorge Masvidal quits Twitter following Trump ban — ‘Follow the leader’

United States President Donald Trump, who will remain in office until President-elect Joe Biden gets sworn in a week from Wednesday (Jan. 20), has been permanently banned from Twitter after publishing a series of controversial tweets deemed inconsistent with the platform’s terms of service.

I would say “See you on Parler!” but that appears to have its own set of issues.

In the wake of Trump’s ban, longtime UFC welterweight veteran Jorge Masvidal announced his resignation from Twitter. That probably won’t come as surprise to most MMA fans after watching “Gamebred” stump for Trump ahead of the hotly-contested 2020 election.

“Not too many places I ain’t been kicked out of and since all the cool kids have been kicked off Twitter ... Follow the leader,” Masvidal wrote, along with the middle finger emoji and a special tag for Bitcoin Jack. “Ala din my way out of here #supernecessary.”

Masvidal is one of several prominent UFC figures to align with Trump, a list that includes UFC President Dana White, as well as top welterweight contender Colby Covington and former bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, just to name a few.

No telling how long Masvidal will remain in Twitter exile but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him resurface when his sponsors need something promoted. Until then, you can head over to the Cuban’s Instagram account for all the latest “Gamebred” news (like this).
