Johnny Walker returned to the light heavyweight win column earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2020) at UFC Vegas 11 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he brutally stopped streaking contender Ryan Spann via first-round TKO (elbow and punches).
This wasn’t an easy one for Walker as the Brazilian striker got caught badly by Spann in the early going. Spann was able to rush in and land some more strikes but Walker’s grappling off his back allowed him to return to the feet. When Spann tried to push the action along the cage Walker landed brutal elbows to the side of the head. One hurt Spann bad and Walker piled on punches before the referee stepped in.

With this performance, Walker ends a two-fight losing streak at 205 pounds and captures one of the biggest wins of his career. He did have to fight through some early adversity but still pulled through when it mattered most. Looks like Walker’s recent move to Ireland’s Straight Blast Gym is already paying dividends.
