Rising women’s flyweight prospect Mayra Bueno Silva captured her second UFC submission finish earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 19, 2020) at UFC Vegas 11 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the Brazilian ended veteran Mara Romero Borella via first-round armbar.
After getting tagged a few times on the feet Silva ended up on the bottom on the ground. Borella knew she had to play it safe and tried to keep her arms and head out of trouble, but Silva was too active off her back. Silva threatened with a potential triangle choke and then quickly switched it to the armbar, forcing Borella to tap almost instantaneously.

With this performance, Silva gets back in the win column after dropping a tough decision to Maryna Moroz back in March. At 29 years of age, with limited contenders in front of her, Silva could quickly climb the 125-pound ladder if she can keep producing finishes like this one.
