You know that saying about being careful when returning an incorrect order at a restaurant back to the kitchen for fear of having it spit on by angry cooks? Well the same goes if you send Derrick Lewis the wrong food.
UFC’s “game-changing” meal program, Trifecta, is in charge of supplying participating athletes their meals leading up to a fight. But Lewis was in for a surprise when he not only received his meals, but also Aleksei Oleinik’s, the man he is set to face this Sat. night (Aug. 8, 2020) at UFC Vegas 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Being the good sport that he is, Lewis decided to add a little bit more seasoning to “The Boa Constrictors” meat, but instead of salt and pepper he added some soul food flavor via his saliva.
To each their own, but I think Aleksei might want to hit up the UFC Performance Institute for a whole new order.
Meals and “jokes” aside, Oleinik and Lewis are both hunting for their third straight win in an attempt to up their stock in the Heavyweight division. And with Daniel Cormier set to retire after his trilogy bout against Stipe Miocic next week at UFC 252, a win here is crucial for their respective championship dreams.
