UFC on ESPN 15 injuries and medical suspensions were submitted to MixedMartialArts.com earlier this week for those athletes competing at the “Munhoz vs. Edgar” event this past weekend (Sat., Aug. 22, 2020) from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Not surprisingly, a fair share of combatants were handed lengthy timeouts, including bantamweight headliners Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar. Both “The Young Punisher” and “The Answer” suffered multiple facial lacerations.

Complete UFC on ESPN 15 medical suspensions (via MMA Junkie) below.

Pedro Munhoz: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days due to left eyebrow and nasal lacerations.
Frankie Edgar: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days due to lacerations.
Marcin Prachnio: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days.
Mariya Agapova: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days.
Shana Dobson: Suspended 177 days or until X-ray of left ribs is cleared by orthopedic doctor; Also suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.
Daniel Rodriguez: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days due to sutures on left fifth toe.
Dwight Grant: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days.
Amanda Lemos: Suspended 30 days or until cut above left eye cleared by doctor; No contact for 21 days.
Ike Villanueva: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for right elbow laceration.
Carlton Minus: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days.

Timur Valiev: Suspended for 45 days with no contact for 30 days.
Trevin Jones: Suspended for 30 days with no contact for 21 days.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
