Knockout! Watch Shana Dobson shock Mariya Agapova with upset finish at UFC on ESPN 15

With her UFC career hanging in the balance, Shana Dobson weathered an early storm to finish Mariya Agapova via second-round TKO (punches) earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 22, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 15 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As expected, Agapova came out guns blazing and pressured Dobson with heavy combinations from range. Dobson was able to keep her composure and turned the fight into a grappling match against the fence and on the mat. Agapova did enough in those positions to win the first round, but she looked exhausted for her efforts.

In Round 2, Agapova came out desperate to secure a takedown to recover her strength. Dobson was able to reverse position and take control of the tired youngster. “Danger” started to posture up and land peppering fists to the side of Agapova’s head. Agapova had nothing left to offer and the referee eventually stopped the action.

Believe it or not, this was one of the biggest upsets in the history of UFC based on the betting odds entering the women’s flyweight affair. Dobson was a 8-1 underdog against the touted Agapova and ended up saving her UFC career with one of the most shocking performances of 2020.
