Yoel Romero has been forced out of his Middleweight fight against Uriah Hall, which was scheduled to go down at the upcoming UFC Vegas 7 event on Aug. 22, 2020, inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. That’s according to BJPenn.com, which also revealed that the reason (s) for his withdrawal from the co-main event bout were unknown at this time.
Romero was looking to end his three-fight skid after dropping fights to current 185-pound champion, Israel Adesanya, ex-champion Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa. Hall, on the other hand, has gone 3-1 in his last four and was looking for a huge bump up with a win over “Soldier of God.”
As it stands, the promotion has a little less than one week to find a suitable replacement to face “Prime Time.” Care to offer up a suggestion or three?
Frankie Edgar and Pedro Munhoz — who were recently yanked from UFC 252 this weekend (Sat., Aug. 15, 2020) — will spearhead this event. In addition, Angela Hill will face Michelle Waterson in women’s Strawweight action.
