Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will once again ask top flyweight contenders Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez to slug it out for the vacant 125-pound title, recently abandoned by former two-division kingpin Henry Cejudo.
The means to that end is a five-round headliner on “Fight Island” this Sat. night (July 18, 2020) in Abu Dhabi, which streams exclusively on ESPN+. Figueiredo scored a technical knockout victory in their first go-round, but failed to capture the crown because he missed weight.
Both fighters will be front and center for today’s virtual media day, alongside middleweight co-headliners Jack Hermansson and Kelvin Gastelum, who collide for a spot in the crowded 185-pound title chase.
