Sean O’Malley lived up to his hype once again earlier tonight (Sat., June 6, 2020) at UFC 250 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he captured the “viral knockout” he was looking for after starching former title challenger Eddie Wineland with one punch just two minutes into the first round.
Wineland looked to put the pressure on “Suga” early and did back him into the cage on multiple occasions, but O’Malley was just plotting his move. During an exchange inside, O’Malley feinted an uppercut and blasted Wineland with a huge right hand that put the veteran fighter down on the canvas. Wineland was out when he hit so O’Malley didn’t need to pursue. It was one of the best walkoff knockout victories in UFC history.

With this performance, O’Malley proves that he is much better than he was before his two year layoff and is ready to test the very best fighters at 135 pounds. His striking looked incredible and if this one-punch knockout power can carry over into the top 15 the UFC may have the next big thing on its hands.
