Marc-Andre Barriault captured his first Octagon win earlier tonight (Sat., June 20, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 11 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, as “Power Bar” pushed through middleweight counterpart Oskar Piechota via second-round TKO (punches).
Barriault needed to impress after dropping his first three UFC appearances and the Canadian power puncher did exactly that. He was on Piechota from the beginning and landed vicious combinations at will. Piechota somehow survived and kept busy in his own regard. However, Piechota’s efforts didn’t last long in the second round after Barriault landed a big right uppercut along the cage. Piechota started to crumble and “Power Bar” landed a few final shots on the ground before the referee stepped in.

With this performance, Barriault finally capitalizes on his heavy hands and locks down his first knockout finish since 2018. The Canadian prospect remains a promising member of the UFC’s growing 185-pound division, but Barriault has to find a lot more consistency against better opponents moving forward if he wants to makes serious noise in the weight class.
