Brian Kelleher makes quick turnaround, faces Cody Stamann at UFC 250 on June 6

After scoring a knockout win over previously-unbeaten Hunter Azure at UFC Jacksonville on May 13, 2020, Brian Kelleher is getting right back on the horse. According to BJPenn.com, “Boom” will face off against Cody Stamann at the upcoming UFC 250 ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) event on June 6, 2020.

Stamann hasn’t seen action since fighting to a majority draw against Song Yadong at UFC on ESPN 7 in Dec. 2019. Prior to that, Stamann had gone 4-1 inside the Octagon, with his lone loss coming at the hands of top-ranked Bantamweight contender, Aljamain Sterling. As for Kelleher, he is looking for his third straight victory, winning his previous two via stoppage.

It’s a great match up between two rising division contenders, who could earn some traction in the rankings with a win.

UFC 250 is set to be headlined by a women’s Featherweight title fight as Amanda Nunes puts her strap on the line against Felicia Spencer. In the co-main event, Cody Garbrandt faces Raphael Assuncao, while Aljamain Sterling will face Cory Sandhagen in 135-pound action.

Though not official at this time, the event is expected to take place inside UFC’s Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, site of this Saturday night’s (May 30, 2020) UFC on ESPN 9: “Woodley vs Burns” event.
