Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Apparently, words might have consequences after all, even in MMA!
Colby Covington has built himself a small fan base and much larger group of annoyed viewers with his brash, trash-talking ways. In addition, Covington made the strange choice to target his own team mates of American Top Team (ATT), notably throwing shade in the direction of Jorge Masvidal, Dustin Poirier, and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
That’s not enough to definitively say he’s been kicked off the team, but it’s pretty solid evidence.
If Covington has indeed been removed from the gym, it’s likely due to his frequent violation of ATT’s anti-trash talk policy, a set of guidelines that was put in place because of Covington himself! After that policy was put in place, Covington did briefly apologize to Poirier, but it didn’t take long for him to trash Jedrzejczyk once more.
A Covington cancellation also begs the question: where to next? There is another major gym in Florida in the Blackzilians ... but it’s home to Kamaru Usman. Outside of the state, there are plenty of major options, but seeing as Covington has made an enemy of all Brazilian fighters, he’s likely to find conflict wherever he goes.
I guess that’s just the “Chaos” way.
Going out on top is damn near impossible in combat sports. Whatever you thought of the “Triple C” persona, Henry Cejudo’s incredible accomplishments deserve respect!
Thank you for the awesome experiences uncle @danawhite I will forever be grateful. Thank you for taking a chance on the sport that people thought would never make it. If you’re a Conor McGregor fan and would like to see him fight Kamaru Usman, well ... I am impressed by your optimism.
I really don’t understand why you all want this man DEAD!!! I’d shag him in there if I wanted and he’d “DO NOTHIN” FOH pic.twitter.com/PvawNvX3Ru— KAMARU USMAN (@USMAN84kg) May 25, 2020
Why is this so funny?
Translated Twitter rumor: “Yas Island is the first island to host UFC previously, there is a partnership between the organization and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, which extends to five years and the remaining four years, one of the officials stated that the return of UFC to Abu Dhabi will be next summer. All indications are that the fighting island is Emirates Yas Island.”

People say we don't know what fighters make but that's not completely true. Using what's been unsealed we can put together not just a general picture but also fill in some specifics. For the heck of it lets look at 2015 1/

A pretty interesting backstory to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s record-setting performance!

At this fight, which happened 7 years ago, I placed a record in #UFC 21 takedowns in single fight. Month before the fight I injured my knee and wasn’t able to take opponents back. ⠀ Decision to make was very simple)) just grab and throw your opponent for 15 minutes straight. if there is a desire, there will always be a solution.
To be fully honest, I mostly saved this clip for my own studies, but here’s the best no-gi grappler on the planet explaining his hand-trapping tactics.

Pass off to cross wrist- playing the dilemma by making them choose what their primary hand does. Do they attempt to peel off the cross wrist grip? effectively giving you a double cross? or do they use their primary defensive hand to stop the strangle? here, my opponent begins to attempt to strip the initial cross wrist only to realize a hand is coming across his neck. Once he attempts to grab the strangle hand it is too late. the hand is trapped. once the secondary hand is trapped its embarrassingly easy to control the primary hand and set the strangle arm in place. at the highest levels, deception is the key to success. i made my opponent believe i wanted to attack his neck. when he was thinking about that it was easy to trap his secondary hand. keep this in mind when everyone gets back to training :)
It goes, it goes, it goes ... GUILLOTINE!
