Bellator 203: “Pitbull vs. Weichel 2” went down July 14, 2018, at Foro Italico in Rome, Italy. “Pitbull” Patricio Freire (26-4) defended the Featherweight title against Daniel Weichel (39-9) for a second time in the Bellator MMA main event.
The rematch wound up going to the judges with a scorecard that was all over the map. Two of them favorite “Pitbull” 49-46 and 48-47, while one saw it 48-47 for Weichel. On a card with lightning quick finishes from Andrey Koreshkov and Alessio Sakara among others, it may have seemed like an anticlimactic result, but both men gave it their all for five rounds.
