Chuck Liddell retired from MMA, open to wrestling ‘The Rock’ in WWE

New, comments

UFC hall-of-famer, Chuck Liddell, has finally, mercifully, put an end to his mixed martial arts (MMA) career at the ripe old age of 50, and while he claims to be retired “for now,” I don’t think there’s a promoter who would have the nerve to book him, nor do I think a stateside commission would risk licensing him.

Hello Japan!

Anyway, “The Iceman” would not be opposed to taking his name to WWE if the pro wrestling organization had a spot for him alongside other UFC veterans like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, though his dream opponent would probably be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“Of course, yeah, I’d still do WWE, I’d still do pro wrestling,” Liddell told TMZ Sports (transcribed by Adam Martin). “That’d be a lot of fun. I’d like that. I don’t think The Rock’s still in it there. He’s always fun to do something with. I’m impressed by the stuff those guys do. They do some crazy stuff.”

Liddell (21-9) came out of retirement for a third and final fight against Tito Ortiz under the Golden Boy banner back in late 2018. Sadly, “The Iceman” was starched by his longtime rival after eight years on the sidelines and looked positively dreadful from bell-to-bell.

At this point, I’m not even sure fake punches would look any better.
