UFC 249 fight card expected to add Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik

The upcoming UFC 249 fight card just got a whole lot bigger.

Literally.

Heavyweight power punchers Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who were expected to hook ‘em up in the UFC Columbus headliner, could instead trade leather at next month’s UFC 249 pay-per-view (PPV) event.

The location of that card has yet to be revealed.

UFC President Dana White told ESPN on Wednesday that his April 18 fight card will feature a mix of new and existing fights, after the coronavirus pandemic forced the promotion to cancel three events in the month of March.

Doesn’t sound like he’ll get much resistance, either.

“I’d be happy to dance 18th of April,” Rozenstruik told The Schmo. “I can’t wait for this [fight] to happen because we’ve been working hard for it and the fun has to come out right now. It’s about time.”

Ngannou is also on board after testing negative for coronavirus.
