Jon Jones yet again proved he’s the best fighter in the world last night (Sat., Feb. 8, 2020) at UFC 247 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, as he outlasted formerly undefeated contender Dominick Reyes to the tune of a unanimous decision win. Jones also set a new UFC record with his 14th-straight title win.

Reyes came out swinging and pressed Jones right away. Jones countered and was able to find his range quickly. Reyes came back with solid punches down the pipe and whipping leg kicks. “Devastator” then dropped Jones with a punch to the body but the champ immediately got back up. Jones would find a home for a head kick before the end of the round.

More pressure and high pace from Reyes in the second frame as he rushed Jones with combos, but the champ bobbed and weaved his way around the shots. Reyes eventually seemed to tire and slow as Jones prodded forward with a variety of shots. Jones kept busy, despite a late uppercut from Reyes, and finally started to control the fight.

In the third round, Reyes scored some more head kicks. Jones ate it once again and continued to push forward against the occasional Reyes combination. Reyes started to slow again but mixed in another strong uppercut to check the champion. Jones would partially land a jumping kick at the end of the round.

Reyes came out swinging bombs in the fourth round and forced Jones to retreat. Jones would eventually work for a takedown along the cage only to have Reyes get right back up. Jones went to the clinch to land some short offense and tire Reyes even more. Reyes kept swinging, but Jones began to pick him apart if combinations, leg kicks, body shots, and head kicks.

The fifth and final frame saw Reyes land some early body shots before Jones went back to his wrestling. Reyes once again defended and then scored some shots over the top. The champion responded with kicks to the body and legs, as a tired Reyes backpedaled his way around the cage. Jones would land a nasty spinning kick to the body before following Reyes around with more leg kicks to close out the main event.

In the end, it was Jones who did the most damage over the course of 25 minutes to earn the unanimous decision nod.
