Former Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion Megan Anderson scored the biggest win of her career earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 29, 2020) at UFC Fight Night 169 live on ESPN+ from inside Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, when she flattened Octagon newcomer Norma Dumont with a beautiful one-punch knockout in the first round of their main card matchup.
Dumont came out confident and took the fight to Anderson to close a considerable gap on the feet. Anderson ate a few punches in effort to land her own and she started to take control of the fight. As the two fighters moved closer to the cage Anderson launched a perfectly-timed right hand that crashed into the Brazilian’s chin. Dumont fell to the canvas and Anderson went to add a few more punches but the referee instantly stepped in.

With this performance, Anderson earns her second-straight win at 145 pounds and may have just locked down a title shot with current UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes. Anderson certainly has the size to give “Lioness” problems, but she’ll need to be even better than what she was tonight.
