Umar has competed in Russia for the majority of his career, but he did fight stateside under the Professional Fighter's League (PFL) banner on two occasions, defeating Saidyokub Kakhramonov at in 2018, and then Sidemar Honorio this past August.
In his last outing, Nurmagomeodv defeated Braian Gonzalez via rear-naked choke in the very first round under the Gorilla Fighting Championship (GFC) umbrella, which you can see here.
While not yet official, Umar is expected to make his debut at the upcoming UFC 249 pay-per-view (PPV) even on April 18, 2020 in Brooklyn, New York. That event will be headlined by Khabib, as he defends his belt against No. 1 contender, Tony Ferguson.
