Submission! Watch Jimmy Crute end Michal Oleksiejczuk with nasty kimura at UFC Auckland

Rising light heavyweight prospect Jimmy Crute was simply too powerful earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 22, 2020) at UFC Fight Night 168 live on ESPN+ from inside Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, when he steamrolled Polish striker Michal Oleksiejczuk en route to a first-round submission finish (kimura).

“The Brute” was the bigger man coming into the fight and it really showed against the less aggressive Oleksiejczuk. Crute landed the more powerful shots on the feet before having his way with Oleksiejczuk in the wrestling department and quickly moving into top control off takedowns. Eventually, Crute was able to use his strength again to yank Oleksiejczuk’s arm from his body and slap on a nasty kimura attempt. Oleksiejczuk had to tap.

With this performance, Crute bounces back in devastating fashion after getting submitted by Misha Cirkunov this past September. Crute proved tonight that he can come back from defeat and still display the elevated skills you want from a rising prospect. The 23-year-old will look to build on this finish and use 2020 to creep into the light heavyweight Top 10.
