Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, recently revealed that the promotion would make significant cuts to its bloated roster after announcing multiple-time Middleweight title contender, Yoel Romero, had been released.
Prior to parting ways with “Soldier of God,” the promotion released top Flyweight contender Jussier Formiga, Justin Ledet, Bevon Lewis, Cole Smith, and Collin Huckbody. And of course, the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organization released former Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, a few weeks back.
In the latest round of cuts, the promotion has severed ties with Rachael Ostovich on the heels of three straight defeats. Ostovich most recently succumbed to Gina Mazany via knockout at UFC Vegas 15 (see it again here). Prior to that, she was submitted by Paige VanZant and Montana De La Rosa in back-to-back outings.
While she’s been with the promotion for three years, Ostovich has only competed four times during that time. Her lone win came against Karine Gevorgyan in her Octagon debut in 2017. The Hawaiian-born fighter was suspended eight months earlier this year after failing a post-fight drug test.
