Jordan Leavitt scored one of the best knockout finishes of the year earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 5, 2020) at UFC Vegas 16 live on ESPN+/ESPN2 from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when the lightweight prospect ended veteran Matt Wiman with a first-round knockout slam for the ages.
It didn’t take Leavitt long to threaten with a takedown attempt and it prompted Wiman to grapple. Leavitt ended up carrying Wiman across the cage to his own corner before taking his arm and slamming Wiman to the canvas. Wiman was instantly out and Leavitt walked away with just 22 seconds off the clock.

While things turned scary when it took Wiman over five minutes to come off the canvas this is still a tremendous performance for Leavitt. The “Contender Series” standout was supposed to win this lightweight affair, but this knockout finish is more than anyone could ask for. Leavitt could easily make another appearance before the end of the year so keep an eye out, especially with all of these last-second fight cancellations.
