too soon?

Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight titleholder Kamaru Usman captured the glass trophy on Season 21 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) and has never looked back, winning his next 11 fights and dispatching top contenders like Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal along the way.

As far as UFC President Dana White is concerned, Usman is on his way to GOAT status.

“Nobody was more critical of Usman in the beginning than me,” White wrote on social media (via Freak MMA). “He’s a BAD MOTHER F****R now!! He’s incredible no matter where the fight goes. By the time he’s done he will go down as one of the all-time greats.”

Have the boo birds finally gone quiet?

Despite his success, Usman (17-1) will have to move mountains to step out of the shadow of Georges St-Pierre, widely considered the greatest UFC welterweight of all time. “Rush” also bumped up to middleweight and captured gold there, as well.

Simply put, Usman better keep that shovel shined.
