Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will pit former heavyweight champion against rising division prospect when Junior dos Santos collides with Ciryl Gane at the upcoming UFC 256 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 12 inside APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Cigano” is a sizable underdog at +350, according to Bet365, against -455 for Gane.
Dos Santos (21-8), who turns 37 in just a few months, is in desperate need of a victory after getting knocked out in three straight fights, including last August’s collapse at the heavy hands of once-beaten “Bigi Boy” Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
As for Gane (6-0), the 30 year-old Parisian jumped out to a perfect 3-0 start inside the Octagon, submitting the likes of Raphael Pessoa and Don’Tale Mayes along the way. “Bon Gamin” also has a perfect Muay Thai record of 7-0.
But he’s never faced an MMA striker like “Cigano” ... which makes this a very tempting line.
