Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has assembled an important strawweight matchup for the upcoming UFC 257 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is scheduled to go down on Sat., Jan. 23, 2021 inside APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Michelle Waterson vs. Amanda Ribas, according to AgFight.
Waterson (18-8) recently snapped a two-fight losing streak by capturing a split-decision victory over the rough-and-tumble Angela Hill in the UFC Vegas 10 main event last September. “The Karate Hottie” is currently ranked No. 6 at 115 pounds.
As for Ribas (10-1), she’s managed to saw her way through the strawweight division unopposed, racking up four straight wins over the likes of Mackenzie Dern and Paige VanZant, among others, to settle in at No. 9 in the official rankings.
UFC 257 is expected to be headlined by the lightweight showdown pitting former champion Conor McGregor against top contender Dustin Poirier, just as soon as promotion president Dana White is done “playing games” with “The Diamond’s” contract.
