Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White addressed the mixed martial arts (MMA) media during the UFC 255 press conference last weekend in Las Vegas, and one of the first questions for the “Sin City” fight boss was about the future of retired lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
After all, there is quite a bit on the line in the 155-pound division with top contenders Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier going to war at UFC 257 in January.
“The Eagle” retired from cage fighting after defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje just last month and has already moved on to other endeavors. But White seems convinced the undefeated grappler will make one last appearance inside the Octagon.
During the presser, White revealed a meeting with Nurmagomedov was set for later this week so when “The Eagle” wrote “see you soon” on his Instagram page, he could have been referring to their pending meet-up, or maybe he was talking about his UFC return.
I guess all we can do at this point is wait and see.
