Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight kingpin Deiveson Figueiredo is just two days removed from his submission victory over Alex Perez, which took place in the UFC 255 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Las Vegas, and already has another title contender on deck.
That’s because streaking 125-pound standout Brandon Moreno, who argued that he deserved last weekend’s spot over Perez, joined “Daico” in the winner’s column after smashing Brandon Royval by way of first-round technical knockout on the UFC 255 main card in “Sin City.”
“The Assassin Baby” opened as the +215 underdog, according to BetOnline.ag, against -255 for the flyweight champ.
Figueiredo vs. Moreno was hastily thrown together for the UFC 256 headliner on Dec. 12 — also in Las Vegas — to help offset the loss of Petr Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling, a bantamweight title fight that fell apart when “No Mercy” was forced to withdraw.
