UFC 255 is coming up this weekend (Sat., Nov. 21, 2020) and anyone who’s feeling underwhelmed by this card should check out this “Countdown” show to remind themselves what a beast Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo is.
Figueiredo is set to face No. 4-ranked division contender, Alex Perez, in what will be his first official title defense. “Deus Da Guerra” spent the first half of 2020 beating Joseph Benavidez for his belt. Their first fight saw Figgy miss weight and win shortly after a clash of heads ... just enough controversy to set up an immediate rematch that he won even more emphatically (watch highlights).
Now, no one is doubting Deiveson Figueiredo and some have a hard time imagining anyone will be able to wrest the title away from him. Enter Alex Perez, who is 6-1 in UFC with four finishes. Also featured: a women’s Flyweight title fight between champ Valentina Shevchenko and No. 3-ranked Jennifer Maia.
