Former UFC heavyweight jailed following bone-breaking bar fight

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight hurter Ben Sosoli smashed some drunk dude’s jaw outside Jacksons Lounge Bar in Toorak, Australia last September, causing enough damage to warrant facial reconstruction surgery.

And 22 months in the slammer, according to a report from Australian Associated Press.

Sosoli, who goes by the nickname “Combat Wombat,” was chastised by the sentencing judge for failing to show restraint in his role as “responsible service of alcohol officer” — better known as “bouncer” — and won’t be eligible for parole for the first 11 months.

Maybe the judge caught wind of this video.

The promotion recently parted ways with the 30 year-old Aussie, who last competed at the UFC Fight Night 168 event back in February, losing to Marcos Rogerio de Lima by way of technical knockout. Sosoli (7-3, 2 NC) is perhaps best known for his “no contest” against Greg Hardy on ESPN, a sloppy showdown made famous by “The Prince of War’s” inhaler.
