A couple of days after defeating Heili Alateng at UFC Fight Island 4 on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Casey Kenney has seemingly found himself another fight. According to a couple of reports, Kenney is in talks to jump right back on the horse to face Nathaniel Wood at UFC 254 on Oct. 24, 2020.
During the post-fight presser (see it again here), Kenney expressed his desire to fight once more before he took a long flight back home from “Fight Island,” and luckily the promotion was willing to oblige.
And it will be a tough fight to say the least, as Wood is one of the more promising prospects in the Bantamweight division. Wood was last seen defeating John Castaneda at UFC Fight Island 3 last July, giving him his ninth win in last 10 fights. His lone loss during the great run was a knockout loss to John Dodson.
Kenney, meanwhile, has won seven of eight, which means the winner of this match up will make huge strides in cracking the Top 15.
UFC 254 will feature the highly-anticipated return of Khabib Nurmagomedov as he takes on Justin Gaethje in a Lightweight title unification match. In the co-main event, Robert Whittaker will face off against Jared Cannonier in a critical Middleweight affair.
