Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall face off tonight (Sat., Oct. 31, 2020) in a main event Middleweight clash from UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC Vegas 12. While Silva was a bit ambiguous regarding his overall retirement, “The Spider” made it clear: this was his final bout inside the Octagon. On the other side of the equation, Hall was looking to dispatch an idol and finally break into the title mix after years of attempts. Both men should be motivated to leave with a victory, even if their reasons are wildly different.
More than a full minute of staring began the contest between counter punchers. The two trade low kicks about 90 seconds in. Silva finds a home for a couple kicks, and Hall attempts a jab. Silva advances, lands a right hook. Hall scores with a hard low kick, but Silva counters with a combination. Silva gets real aggressive, and he scores with a left hand. Hall sticks a front kick. Silva lands a spinning heel to the leg! Hall lands a pair of solid jabs, Silva digs to the body. Silva scores with another left. Hard jab lands for Hall near the end of the round, but he really allowed Silva to dictate the pace.
Silva lands a couple glancing kicks in the opening minute. Silva stays evasive as Hall tries to come forward. The two trade jabs and low kicks. Silva lands a spinning back kick. Good front kick from Hall. Silva gets real loose with his feints, and Hall is reactive ... though no real punches come. Silva digs a pair of low kicks. The pace really slowed, as Silva backed off and Hall largely refused to lead. Silva landed a pretty stiff jab to end an uneventful round.
Silva lands first with a left hand. Good body kick from the former champion. Hall finds a jab. The action heats back up a bit, but neither man is fully committing to their strikes. A prolonged hand-fighting exchange leads to a hard jab from Hall. Hall attempts a spin kick. Axe kick lands for Silva! Silva lands a glancing left hand, following a stiff jab. Hall scores with a good cross! Hard jab for Silva, and the two trade body kicks. Hall is starting to let his right hand go, but now his eye is bothering him. Silva lands a right uppercut and a stiff jab behind it, then the two clinch up. Foot stomps from Silva! Silva lands a knee to the body, then Hall escapes and lands a pair of right hands. Out of nowhere, Hall drops Silva with a right hand! He nearly finished the champion moments later, but “The Spider” is saved by the bell.
Silva lands a left hand to start the fourth frame. Silva goes for a high kick that partially connects. Hall snaps a jab. Another. Silva advances, but a counter right hand from Hall lands clean and drops Silva. Silva defends himself for a few moments, but Hall overwhelms his foe with punches from top position to force the finish.
Result: Uriah Hall defeats Anderson Silva via fourth-round knockout
