Silly Uriah Hall claims Israel Adesanya is cherry-picking opponents — ‘He’s looking for easy fights’

Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, undefeated in mixed martial arts (MMA) at 20-0, fought Robert Whittaker to win the 185-pound strap, then defended his belt in back-to-back fights against Top 5 contenders Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa.

Once that was done, “The Last Stylebender” promptly called out former light heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound great Jon Jones, then vowed to move up in weight for a heavyweight collision against 265-pound kingpin Stipe Miocic.

If that’s what Uriah Hall considers “easy” ... then what the hell is hard?

“Adesanya’s picking his fights,” Hall told MMA Fighting. “He sees what I see, he sees a hole in all these guys. He’s already picking [Jared] Cannonier, he’s looking for easy fights. Yeah, I said it. I know why he’s picking certain fights, but I’m dynamic, especially with the gym that I’m at right now, I’m focused. Laser focused. It’s just a matter of time. I’m just going to play the politic card and just whoever the UFC needs me to beat, or whoever the UFC thinks can beat me and get to the top.”

Hall (15-9) probably would have already been to the top but got smashed by Costa at UFC 226. “Prime Time” also came up short against Whittaker at UFC 193, shortly before he was popped and dropped by Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 94.

Costa, Whittaker, and Brunson have all been knocked out by Adesanya, who had a little message for Hall on social media:

If the 36 year-old Hall wants to work his way up to “The Last Stylebender” he’ll first need to get past Anderson Silva in the UFC Vegas 12 main event this weekend on ESPN+ from inside the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
