Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is putting together an important light heavyweight showdown for its upcoming “Fight Night” card on ESPN+, which is scheduled to go down on Feb. 27, 2021 for either APEX in Las Vegas or Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Dominick Reyes vs. Jiri Prochazka, according to ESPN.
Reyes (12-2) blasted his way to the top of the 205-pound mountain with 12 straight wins, nine of which came by way of knockout or submission. Unfortunately for “The Devastator,” his two subsequent title shots to Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz ended in defeat.
A loss here would be catastrophic for his title hopes.
Prochazka (27-3-1) migrated to UFC after a terrifying run through the ranks of RIZIN in Japan. “Denisa” — winner of 11 straight — lived up to the hype by destroying Volkan Oezdemir at the UFC 251 pay-per-view (PPV) event last July for his 24th knockout in 27 wins.
No other bouts have been revealed for the promotion’s Feb. 27 fight card but you can expect that to change sooner, rather than later.
