Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) returns for a fight at Bellator 250 in Uncasville

Bellator 250: “Mousasi vs. Lima” comes to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Oct. 29, 2020. Douglas Lima (32-7) vs. Gegard Mousasi (46-7-2) is the scheduled main event for the vacant Middleweight title.

Joining them on the card will be former professional wrestler Jake Hager (2-0, 1 NC) — better known as “Jack Swagger” — and his opponent Brandon Calton (2-0) for a Heavyweight bout. Calton, 40, fought as a Super Heavyweight as an amateur, so it seems fairly obvious what the plan is for this fight.

For what it’s worth, though, the former collegiate standout wrestler at Oklahoma is still learning how to go back to his roots and not turn it into a worked match. A low blow might be fine for Toru Yano in New Japan Pro Wrestling, but in a mixed martial arts (MMA) match doing it repeatedly results in a “No Contest.”
