Some of the very best fighters in the world will be on full display later this evening (Sat., Jan. 18, 2020) at UFC 246 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the promotion looks to start off the new year with an absolute bang.
Leading the way is a main event clash between the returning Conor McGregor and UFC legend Donald Cerrone. The bout will be contested at 170 pounds and serve as McGregor’s first trip to the Octagon since a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov back in 2018. Both men have the capability of finishing the other so it should be one hell of a main event.
Adding to the main card mix will be former UFC champions Anthony Pettis and Holly Holm, who are each coming off disappointing losses in 2019. Both veterans need a win badly to begin the new year as they try to claw their back into title contention.
As a reminder of how dangerous these main card fighters can be, UFC has released some of the best finishes UFC 246 combatants have to offer (shown in the above video player). Whether it’s Holm’s head kick knockout over Bethe Correia, Pettis’ one-punch blow to Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, Cerrone’s blistering knockout stoppage over Jim Miller, or McGregor’s history-making victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, the highlight-reel finishes are endless.
Only time will tell which fighters can add to this madness at UFC 246 and start 2020 with a statement.
