Jorge Masvidal explains UFC 241 jump scare: ‘Colby Covington told Dana White I was trying to assault him’

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, had to leave his seat at the UFC 241 pay-per-view (PPV) event last month in Anaheim to save top welterweight contender, Colby Covington, from getting jumped by his ex-best friend, Jorge Masvidal.

That’s because “Chaos” was being held accountable for all the shit he’s been talking in the mixed martial arts (MMA) media, also known as “selling out,” which to date, appears to have alienated most of his friends and teammates at American Top Team (ATT).

So what went down during the “Cormier vs. Miocic 2” event?

“He had to tell Dana White I was trying to assault him and Dana White came over to me like I’m in kindergarten talking about, ‘Don’t give out no three piece and soda,’” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani. “I go, ‘What the fuck are you talking about Dana,’ and he goes, ‘No, Colby’s telling me you’re trying to fucking assault him and you can’t do that,’ and I go, ‘Man, this guy’s such a bitch,’ I told him, ‘Let’s talk like men, why are you lying and doing all this shit, for a like? For a fucking fan or a follow?’”

Covington has been trying to secure a welterweight title fight by any means necessary, but then failed to reach terms on a Kamaru Usman fight for UFC 244 this November in New York, an event that will now be headlined by Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz.

”This dude needs to slow dow, I mean he knows better than most who the fuck I am,” Masvidal continued. “I’ll be at the gym. Colby, if you’re hearing this, you little bitch, because you will, because he acts like he is not sensitive at all, but he’s the most sensitive dude I’ve ever met. He cries when he reads comments.”

As of this writing, neither Covington nor Usman have been booked to compete, but we now have former champion Tyron Woodley thrown into the mix, which means the 170-pound weight class remains log-jammed for the foreseeable future.
