Bellator MMA welterweight, Michael Page, tried to pull off that “cool as a cucumber” shtick by texting during Tuesday’s press conference face off with upcoming opponent, Richard Kiely, but his half-hearted attempt at appearing blasé was short-lived.
That’s because the Irish up-and-comer was using the media opportunity to counteract “Venom,” sticking his thumb in the air and pretty much blocking the once-beaten Brit from any and all flashbulbs.
Then things got physical.
While it certainly didn’t lead to another Jones-Cormier free-for-brawl, it was interesting to see Page take the bait. Perhaps he’s still rattled from his thunderous knockout loss to Douglas Lima at Bellator 221 back in May, and why he was willing to accept a bout against an opponent who is just 3-1 and only one fight into his Bellator MMA career.
They’ll do the deed as part of the upcoming Bellator 227 event on Sept. 27 inside 3ARENA in Dublin, Ireland.
