It’s been a night of quick finishes at UFC on ESPN 3: Ngannou vs. dos Santos and the main event was no exception. Francis Ngannou continues to prove he belongs at the top of the heavyweight division by taking Junior dos Santos’ scalp fast, finishing the fight at 1:10 of the first round.
The fight started with a series of brutal leg kicks from Ngannou. Dos Santos got a bit sloppy throwing some big punches, ending up out of position. Ngannou took advantage and slammed a fist into Junior’s temple, dropping him to all fours on the mat. A couple of big swings to his downed opponent and referee Herb Dean was forced to stop the fight.

The win is Francis Ngannou’s third in a row, with all three wins coming by KO or TKO. After the fight he demanded the UFC give him the winner of Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic and it’s hard to deny him after the quality win over dos Santos. Junior was on a three fight win streak himself, but Ngannou made beating him look easy. When you have that much power, maybe it is.
