Randy Brown pulled through in his co-main event bid earlier tonight (Sat., June 22, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 12 live on ESPN+ from inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, when he finished hard-nosed veteran Bryan Barberena via third-round TKO (punches).
After two rounds of back-and-forth action Brown started to take control n the third. During a clinch along the cage, “Rude Boy” unloaded a knee to the head that sent Barberena into a tizzy. Brown followed up with a stiff combination and then landed a nasty hook to the body that forced “Bam Bam” to cover up and drop to the canvas. The referee saw all he needed to see and called the fight.

With this performance, Brown arguably secures the biggest win of his UFC career. The 28-year-old welterweight didn’t dominate this entire fight, but he was able to finish one of the toughest dudes at 170 pounds when it mattered most. Brown has always possessed considerable athletic ability and a growing fight IQ so maybe this victory finally sends him shooting up the welterweight ladder.
