Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), despite scoring legislation in New York, will continue to stage mixed martial arts (MMA) events in neighboring New Jersey, for some reason, as the world’s preeminent combat sports promotion recently brought word of its return to the Prudential Center in Newark for UFC on ESPN 5 on Aug. 3, 2019.

No fights have been attached to the card at this time.

Since I live in New Jersey, I can tell you without exaggeration that Newark sucks. You can either pay $40 for event parking, or battle the masses on public transportation. Sure, you can probably find parking on the street, but the whole point of driving to “The Rock” is that you also get to drive home.

Kind of hard to do when your wheels get jacked during the event.

Anyway, I would expect a pretty decent main event since this card is airing on big ESPN. Expect that announcement in the coming weeks, if not sooner.
