UFC Minneapolis poster: Francis Ngannou wearing his Adidas, standing on 2 Fifth

Because homeboy is 10 feet tall.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has a new main event for its upcoming UFC on ESPN 3 fight card, so naturally, it also has a new poster. One that features top heavyweight contender, Francis Ngannou, as the tallest man to ever compete in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Pray for Junior dos Santos.

Tyron Woodley was expected to rematch Robbie Lawler in the UFC Minneapolis headliner; however, a hand injury torpedoed those plans. It appears “Ruthless” balked at this list of potential replacements and will instead wait for a later booking.

Ngannou (13-3), who recently set a power record at the UFC Performance Institute, has ended all 13 wins by way of knockout or submission, including last February’s finish over former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.

Dos Santos (21-5), meanwhile, has experienced something of a career resurgence, winning three straight fights and stopping his last two opponents. “Cigano,” who hasn’t worn the strap since late 2012, is currently ranked No. 3 in the division, one spot behind Ngannou.
