Gustafsson vs Smith odds: Latest Vegas lines and betting guide for UFC Fight Night 153

Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC Fight Night 153, which is set to hit Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, this weekend (Sat., June 1, 2019), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) goes international once again this Saturday (June 1, 2019), heading to Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, with it a bevy of local talent. Top Swedish Light Heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi helm UFC Fight Night 153’s main- and co-main events against Anthony Smith and Volkan Oezdemir, respectively, while fellow European standouts like Aleksandar Rakic and Makwan Amirkhani round out the rest of the ESPN+ main card.

We’ve got an interesting gaggle of fights to examine this week, so let’s get started!

What Went Wrong at UFC Fight Night 152?

Nothing! And we didn’t even have to lean on questionable judging or out-of-nowhere finishes this time. Felicia Spencer, Charles Oliveira and Grant Dawson all scored impressive victories with nary a whiff of controversy, cementing UFC: “Rochester” as one of our most successful nights of the year and pushing the 2019 return in investment to more than 200 percent.

UFC Fight Night 152 Odds For The Under Card:

Sergey Khandozhko (-165) vs. Rostem Akman (+145)
Tonya Evinger (-280) vs. Lina Länsberg (+240)
Leonardo Santos (-210) vs. Stevie Ray (+175)
Frank Camacho (-110) vs. Nick Hein (-110)
Bea Malecki (-120) vs. Duda Santana (EVEN)
Devin Clark (-120) vs. Darko Stosic (EVEN)
Joel Alvarez (-115) vs. Danilo Belluardo (-105)

Thoughts: Picking someone who’s lost three of his last four and got horrifically knocked out in his most recent fight generally isn’t the wisest course of action, but Frank Camacho is a bargain. His opponent, Nick Hein, steadfastly refused to use his judo in his last fight with Damir Hadzovic despite being sorely outclassed on the feet. “Sergeant” simply does not have the reach, height, or striking technique to win the sorts of brawls he likes against quality opponents. Camacho’s half-foot reach advantage and experience in drag-out slugfests should carry him to victory.

Darko Stosic at even odds seems like a good investment as well. He hits far harder than Clark’s chin can withstand and should have enough wrestling chops to keep it standing or take Clark down in turn when “Brown Bear” lunges in.

UFC Fight Night 153 Odds For The Main Card:

Alexander Gustafsson (-325) vs. Anthony Smith (+265)
Volkan Oezdemir (-120) vs. Ilir Latifi (EVEN)
Chris Fishgold (-120) vs. Makwan Amirkhani (EVEN)
Aleksandar Rakic (-220) vs. Jimi Manuwa (+180)
Damir Hadzovic (-175) vs. Christos Giagos (+155)
Sung Bin Jo (-145) vs. Daniel Teymur (+125)

Thoughts: Not the most appealing lineup I’ve ever seen, oddswise. These are just extremely close fights for the most part; the exception is the main event, and I think Gustafsson could be a decent parlay stuffer. Smith has a penchant for heroics, but I don’t fancy his chances against a taller, rangier, crisper boxer with a superior gas tank and some wrestling chops.

UFC Fight Night 153 Best Bets:

  • Parlay — Frank Camacho and Alexander Gustafsson: Bet $50 to make $75
Single bet — Darko Stosic: Bet $60 to make $60

There are a few names on the card you’d do well to learn and plenty of competitive matchmaking, making for a solid morning/afternoon of fights. See you Saturday, Maniacs!
