UFC 237 ‘Embedded’ video (Ep. 5): Watch Jose Aldo and BJ Penn get chummy in Brazil

Roughly a decade ago, BJ Penn was the UFC lightweight champion of the world at the same time Jose Aldo was WEC featherweight champion. Fast forward to 2019 and neither fighter has been able to hold on to the division strap, but Aldo has managed to fight his way back into the No. 1 contender spot.

Penn, meanwhile, recently set the promotion’s record for longest losing streak in history.

Both fighters came together at the UFC media day on Thursday ahead of their respective fights in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, conveniently captured by the “Embedded” cameras above. Penn (16-13-2) battles Clay Guida on the “Prelims” portion of this Saturday night’s (May 11, 2019) line up, while Aldo (28-4) collides with Alexander Volkanovski on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card.

It would be hard to justify a spot on the UFC roster in Penn loses. As for Aldo, he’s likely to remain in a holding pattern with a “Great” victory this weekend in his hometown, simply because “Junior” has already been finished twice by current champion, Max Holloway.
