Claudia Gadelha vs Randa Markos on tap for UFC 239 in Las Vegas

UFC 198 Weigh-ins

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is adding a women’s strawweight showdown to its upcoming UFC 239 pay-per-view (PPV) event, according to ESPN, scheduled for Sat., July 6, 2019 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Claudia Gadelha vs. Randa Markos.

Once considered the second-best strawweight in the world, behind Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Gadelha (16-4) hasn’t looked good in a couple of years. “Claudinha” hold a split decision win over Carla Esparza sandwiched between losses to Jessica Andrade and Nina Ansaroff.

Markos (9-6-1) also came up short to Ansaroff by way of unanimous decision back in summer 2018, followed by a draw against Maria Rodriguez and a win over Angela Hill. “Quiet Storm” has not won back-to-back fights in 11 trips to the Octagon.

UFC 239 is expected to be the most stacked mixed martial arts (MMA) fight card of the year. In addition to the light heavyweight championship main event between Jon Jones and Thiago Santos, UFC 239 wil be co-headlined by the women’s bantamweight showdown pitting Amanda Nunes opposite Holly Holm.
