Pedro Munhoz calls for Marlon Moraes title fight following TJ Dillashaw’s failed drug test - ‘We’ll deliver a classic’

The fallout from TJ Dillashaw’s failed United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) drug test and subsequent decision to relinquish the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight title is still going strong.

With “Viper” being fiend $10,000 and suspended for a year by New York State Athletic Commission (NSAC), which makes him eligible to return in January of 2020, the promotion will look to stage a title fight between two worthy contenders for the vacant strap.

While Marlon Moraes is one of the obvious picks to take part in the championship fight, he still needs a dance partner. That’s why Pedro Munhoz has thrown his name in the hat to vie for the 135-pound title against “Magic” in what he predicts will be an instant classic.

“Dana White, I know the TJ situation disappointed a lot of UFC fans,” Pedro wrote on Twitter. “Make it up to them and book me and Marlon Moraes and we’ll deliver a classic. It won’t go 5 rounds. Guaranteed.”

Munhoz is fresh of a stellar knockout victory over former division champion Cody Garbrandt, which went down at UFC 235 a few weeks ago (see it again here). The victory was his third straight and six of seven overall.

As for Moraes, he has won four in a row since dropping his Octagon debut to Raphael Assuncao and has firmly cemented his status as the No. 1 contender. Of course, Aljamain Sterling is always a very good option to also step in and rematch Moraes.

And lets not forget current UFC Flyweight champion Henry Cejudo, who knocked out Dillashaw earlier this year rather swiftly. And “The Messenger” has wasted no time hyping up a potential scrap against Moraes.

You know the possible contenders, so who are your picks to take part in the title fight?
