Veteran fighter Diego Sanchez turned back the clock yet again earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 2, 2019) at from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he put a brutal stop to rising youngster Mickey Gall via second-round TKO.
It is Sanchez’s first finish since stopping Luigi Fioravanti back in 2008.
While Sanchez had to ward off a confident Gall in the early going, “Nightmare” eventually dragged the young welterweight to the canvas and started to sap his energy. Gall would respond with a few power punches in the second round, but a knee by Sanchez in the clinch put Gall to the canvas. From there, Sanchez would end up battering Gall with heavy ground-and-pound en route to the finish.

With this performance, Sanchez locks down his second-straight win after taking out Craig White back in September. It is the first win streak for “Nightmare” since winning two in a row back in 2010-2011. While the 37-year-old veteran isn’t going to contend for a title at 170 pounds it still looks like he has a lot left in the tank 14 years into his UFC tenure.
