Rising middleweight prospect Edmen Shahbazyan continued to shine earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 2, 2019) at UFC 235 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he put a brutal stop to veteran Charles Byrd via TKO just 38 seconds into the first round.

Shahbazyan, who is managed by Ronda Rousey and trains under her former head coach Edmond Tarverdyan, needed little time to put Byrd in danger. After “Kid Dynamite” shot in for a takedown, Shahbazyan shrugged it off and immediately started to pepper Byrd with hard elbows to the side of the head. Byrd eventually gave in and Shahbazyan crushed him with a brutal right hand on his way to the canvas that sealed the deal.

With this performance, Shahbazyan earns his second-straight UFC victory and locks down his eighth win by knockout in just nine career victories. The 21-year-old is quickly making a name for himself at 185 pounds and should certainly get a tougher opponent his next time, especially with Rousey leading his promotional ascension.
