Betting on fights is all well and good, but when you really want to flex your mixed martial arts (MMA) prognostication skills, you turn to prop bets. UFC 235, being a genuinely massive pay-per-view (PPV) event that takes place tonight (Sat., March 2, 2019) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, has produced quite a few options. Thoughts:
The odds on both champions retaining their titles by (technical) knockout are tempting. Jones should be able to take Smith down whenever he wants and, though he does boast some quality submission skills, he hasn’t looked for the tap since taking out Vitor Belfort in 2013. Sure, Jones can coast at times, but against someone he can dominate on the mat, he ought to get the finish before long.
As far as Woodley, I don’t see him winning a decision against someone with a larger gas tank and willingness to stay busy. I can, however, see him catching the hittable Usman with one of those nuclear right hands. If you think Woodley retains, odds are he does it by putting “Nigerian Nightmare” to sleep.
